Quick answer

Florida Living Outdoor installs Fenetex One-Track motorized screens and MaxForce hurricane screens in Oviedo and the Black Hammock. MaxForce typically runs $3,500–$9,500 per opening. Screens are built to order in 4–8 weeks and installed in 1–3 days. Veteran-owned; founder Kip Hudakoz brings 26 years in outdoor living.

You didn’t buy an Oviedo home to stay inside.

Oviedo and the Black Hammock give you something rare: old Florida country living, close enough to the city to keep life busy. From Live Oak Reserve, The Sanctuary and Alafaya Woods to the homes along the Econlockhatchee River, nearly everything Florida weather can throw at an outdoor space happens here.

  • Afternoon storms

The Atlantic and Gulf sea breezes often meet right over Oviedo, and the summer downpours that follow soak furniture and leave the patio needing constant cleaning.

  • The dusk swarm

Wetter ground means more standing water, so mosquitoes and no-see-ums arrive right when evenings cool off.

  • The midday sun

By late morning, an uncovered patio is too hot to use.

  • Privacy

As new neighborhoods fill in, more backyards sit in full view of the house next door.

  • Storms from both coasts

We’re close enough to feel hurricanes riding up the Atlantic shoreline, and storms that cross the state from the Gulf, as Ian did.

  • Too little time

When life is this busy, a patio that takes effort to use just doesn’t get used.

That last one is the real problem. A space that’s set up right is ready the moment you have an hour. One button for bug screens or shade, a fence for privacy, storm protection that lowers when you need it.

A few things we love about Oviedo

  • The chickens. Free-roaming chickens became downtown's unofficial mascots, and the whole city is a designated bird sanctuary.
  • The name. In 1879, postmaster Andrew Aulin, a Swedish immigrant, renamed the Lake Jesup settlement Oviedo, after the city in northern Spain, to honor Florida's Spanish heritage.
  • The Temple orange. Around 1900, Oviedo nurseryman Butler Boston brought the Temple orange into Florida.
  • Black Hammock celery. After the great freeze of 1895, farmers turned to celery, first in Oviedo and then in the rich muck of the Black Hammock, and Oviedo became known as the Celery Capital of the World.

We come to your home, look at the space with you, show you the options and give you a quote.

  3. Final measurement and approvals

We measure every opening and help you fill out your HOA's architectural application. Reviews typically take up to 30 days. We don't order anything until you're approved.

  4. Installation

Your screens are built to order, usually 4–8 weeks after we place the order. Our crews install in 1–3 days.

What it costs

$3,500–$9,500

typical price per opening for MaxForce hurricane screens

Ask us for One-Track pricing on your call. Every quote is set after a free site visit, because no two openings are the same.

  • Size. Wider and taller openings take larger screens and housings.
  • Mounting. How the screen attaches to your lanai or patio changes the build.
  • Motor and controls. Remote, wall switch or smart-home control.
  • Permits. Hurricane screens need a permit and engineering.

If an awning or a simpler screen solves your problem, we'll tell you, even if it's the smaller job.

Common questions from Oviedo homeowners

How much do motorized screens cost in Oviedo?

MaxForce hurricane screens typically run $3,500–$9,500 per opening. Size, mounting, motor and permits move the price, and a free site visit sets your exact quote.

Do I need One-Track or MaxForce?

One-Track handles bugs, sun and privacy, and you raise it fully before a storm. MaxForce is built for hurricanes: you lower it fully when a storm comes. It’s approved under Florida Product Approval FL8637-R15.

How long does the whole process take?

In an HOA community, plan on roughly 2–3 months from final measurement: up to about 30 days for HOA approval, then 4–8 weeks to build your screens once we place the order, then 1–3 days to install.

Will my HOA approve it?

We help you fill out your HOA's architectural application, and we don't order anything until your approval is in hand.

Who services the screens after installation?

We do. We service every screen we install, and new installations come with a 5-year craftsmanship warranty and a 3-year track warranty.

What should I ask any screen installer, including you?

Ask what tracks and motors they use, how the screens are anchored, who pulls the permit, what the warranty covers and for how long, and who services the screens afterward. Get the answers in writing, from us or anyone else.

Awnings, lighting and fencing in Oviedo

Shade, light and privacy for the space you already have.

Retractable awning extended over a back door at a home in the Geneva area near Oviedo, FL

Retractable awnings

Shade when you want it, open sky when you don't. Near Oviedo, one family's southeast-facing yard needed shade, but a fixed structure would have blocked the garage where the RV parks. A retractable awning gives her a shady spot to relax while the family plays, and it rolls back out of the way.

Outdoor lighting

Oviedo and the Black Hammock are lake country: live oaks, Spanish moss and water views worth seeing after dark. Low-voltage landscape lighting brings out that old-Florida charm and keeps your yard usable and secure long after sunset.

Custom horizontal fence

A backyard only works if it feels like yours. In the Black Hammock, one Oviedo family wanted a fence that complemented their home and gave them privacy where they pull into the garage. Our horizontal privacy fences, built with Greenwood's modern European-style panels, give you privacy and a clean, finished look, with very little maintenance.
